The proposed amendments to the 2009 Regulation on cross border payments within the EU

The European Commission (‘Commission’) is seeking to grant EU consumers and businesses in non-euro areas the same protection against additional fees as euro area residents enjoy when making cross border payments in euros, and to require more transparency in currency conversion practices for cross border card payments.
