Gambling in Slovakia after substantial changes to the law

The Slovak Republic has passed new restrictive measures aimed at gambling games provided by foreign operators, in the shape of the Gambling Games Act, which became effective as of 1 July 2017. In this article, Pavel Nechala, Managing Partner of Nechala & Co, outlines the key instruments of this Act, and reflects on the changes in light of the mandatory principles guaranteed by the EU.
