The new European online poker liquidity sharing agreement

Following the passing last year of the French Bill for a Digital Republic, liquidity sharing for online poker with a number of other EU Member States has been enabled in France, subject to certain conditions. The liquidity sharing agreement that will set out the regulatory framework for European liquidity sharing was signed in July 2017 by the French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish gambling regulators. In this article, Rhadamès Killy and Jean-François Vilotte of De Gaulle Fleurance & Associés outline the terms of the agreement, but also highlight how despite the signing of the agreement, a number of questions about the regulatory framework remain unanswered.
