Brazil: The new General Data Protection Law

On 14 August 2018, the President of the Republic of Brazil (‘the President’), Michel Temer, approved with vetoes Law No. 13.709 of 14 August 2018 Which Provides for the Protection of Personal Data and Amends the Federal Law No. 12.965 of 23 April 2016 (‘the Law’), also known as the General Data Protection Law.
