Mobile malware: The growing threats and business responsibilities

In 2016, the US Federal Trade Commission (‘FTC’), sent Orders to File Special Reports under Section 6(b) of the Federal Trade Commission Act to eight device manufacturers, namely Apple, Google, Microsoft, Motorola, Samsung, HTC and Blackberry, to inquire about their security safeguards and challenges relating to mobile devices. On 28 February 2018, the FTC published a summary of the feedback obtained from those manufacturers and the recommendations made by the FTC, as Joan Antokol, Managing Partner at Park Legal LLC, explains.
